Grave markers for Elsinore Valley Cemetery District
Elsinore Valley Cemetery began in 1891 as Greenwood Cemetery and today spans 26 acres on Collier Avenue, including the historic Home of Peace Jewish Cemetery acquired in 1995. It's an independent public district with some of the most specific marker requirements in Riverside County — and its fee sheet states plainly that the district is not affiliated with any headstone or engraving company. Families choose their own.
Here's the part that matters: the district requires markers to be full-size granite with a lawn-mower-proof (L.M.P.) radius edge, at least 3 inches thick. That is exactly — to the letter — the marker we make. No adaptation, no compromise: our standard stone is their standard spec.

Our marker is a 16″ × 28″ polished granite stone, 3″ thick, with an L.M.P. radius edge — which is precisely what Elsinore Valley requires for the first marker on a burial plot. The district will not accept delivery of a stone that misses that spec; ours is built to it.

Every cemetery district sets its own marker regulations. Here is what we know about Elsinore Valley Cemetery District (see the district's own site for source documents):

- First marker on a single or double-depth plot: 16″ × 28″; second marker: 12″ × 18″
- Maximum two markers per full adult plot: one 16″ × 28″ and one 12″ × 18″
- Cremains in a cremains-only plot: 12″ × 18″; side-by-side cremain plots: 12″ × 24″; baby burials: 12″ × 18″
- Oversized markers are allowed only in the Home of Peace Jewish Cemetery section
- Marker setting fee: $112 (standard sizes, per the 2026 price list); deliveries are by appointment with a delivery receipt
- District staff set all markers; allow 7–10 working days for installation
- Marker cleaning and upkeep are the family's responsibility — district staff are not permitted to clean headstones

What are Elsinore Valley Cemetery's marker requirements?

What does "L.M.P." or lawn-mower-proof edge mean?
It's a rounded (radius) edge on a thick stone that mowers and trimmers can pass over without chipping the granite or the machine. It's why thin, square-edged markers aren't accepted — they chip and crack at the lawn line. Our marker's ¼″ bullnose radius edge on a full 3″ stone is the L.M.P. format.
How much does the cemetery charge to set a marker in Lake Elsinore?
Per the district's 2026 price list, the setting fee is $112 for standard marker sizes, paid to the district. Delivery is by appointment, and district staff install the stone — typically within 7–10 working days, scheduled around interments and mowing.
Can the cemetery sell me a headstone?
No — the district's own fee sheet states in bold that Elsinore Valley Cemetery is not affiliated with any headstone or engraving company. Families buy from an outside company of their choice. Our all-inclusive price covers the stone, design, engraving, proof, and the district delivery paperwork.
Are upright monuments allowed at Elsinore Valley Cemetery?
The published size requirements cover flat markers, and oversized stones are explicitly limited to the Home of Peace Jewish Cemetery section. The price list does carry an upright installation line item, so if an upright matters to your family, we'll confirm eligibility for your specific plot with the district office before you commit to anything.
