SoCal Monuments and Engraving is a business name of Promise Trade Services, Inc. (“we,” “us”). We make memorial markers for families in Southern California. This policy explains what information we collect through socalmonuments.com, our phone and text number, and email, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose.
Who we are
- Promise Trade Services, Inc., doing business as SoCal Monuments and Engraving
- Email: info@socalmonuments.com
- Phone and text: (951) 234-0199
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: your name, email, phone number, and mailing address.
- Marker details: the names and dates of the person being remembered, the epitaph, your design choices, the cemetery and gravesite, photos you send us by text or email, and anything you tell us about the person when you ask us to design the marker for you.
- Proof approvals: when you approve a proof, the name you type, the date and time, your IP address and browser, and which proof you approved. This is our record of your signature.
- Messages and calls: emails and texts between you and us (including photos), call logs, voicemails and their transcripts. For some calls, our phone provider also produces a recording, a transcript, and an automated (AI) summary. We keep these so there is a record of what was agreed.
- Older messages: message history from our previous business phone number (Sideline), kept as part of our order records.
- Payment status: whether an invoice was paid. Card details are entered on Square’s payment page and never reach us.
- Technical basics: your IP address and browser type when you submit a form, used to block spam and keep the site working.
- Your saved design: the online designer saves your draft in your own browser (local storage) on the device you used. It stays on that device until you send it to us or clear your browser data.
How we use it
- To design, proof, engrave, deliver, and install your marker.
- To send you proofs, approval requests, invoices, and progress updates.
- To answer your questions and keep a record of the order.
- To meet cemetery requirements and keep our own business records.
- To block spam and keep the website and our systems secure.
We do not sell or share personal information (as those words are defined under California law), and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the people and services needed to make and deliver your marker and run our business. Each receives only what it needs, and none may use your information for its own marketing.
- Square — invoices and card payments.
- Quo — our business phone and text service, including call recording, transcription, and summaries.
- Google — Gmail for our email, and Google Sheets for our internal order list.
- Resend — backup email delivery.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Neon — our database.
- Cloudflare R2 — storage for proofs, photos, and other files.
- Our engraving and proof vendor and our freight carrier — the inscription and delivery details.
- The cemetery — what its rules require for the marker to be approved and set.
We will also disclose information if the law requires it.
Call recording
Calls to and from our business line may be recorded, transcribed, and summarized by automated tools so we have an accurate record of your order. If you prefer, you can reach us by email instead.
Text messaging (SMS)
If you agree to texts, we may text you about your marker: when a proof is ready, when we have recorded your approval, when your marker ships or is installed, and in reply to questions you text us. We only text about your order and your questions. We do not send marketing texts.
- You agree to texts by checking the optional, unchecked texting box on our forms, or by texting us first.
- Texting is optional and is not a condition of purchase. You can always call or email us instead.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help, or call us at (951) 234-0199.
- Mobile information and SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information you share by text is used only to serve you, as described in this policy.
See our full text message terms.
Cookies and tracking
Our public website uses no advertising or analytics cookies, tracking pixels, chat widgets, or session recording. The only cookie we set is a sign-in cookie for our staff. Our fonts are served from our own site, not a third party.
Do Not Track
Our website does not respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals, because we do not track visitors across websites or allow third parties to collect information about your online activity over time or across other sites through our site.
How long we keep it
We keep order records, including the approved proof and our messages with you, for as long as we are in business. A marker is permanent, and families sometimes come back years later to match it or fix something. You can ask us to delete your contact details at any time. We will keep only what the law, our tax and business records, or an open order requires, such as the approval record and invoice.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to change how we contact you. Email info@socalmonuments.com or call (951) 234-0199. To protect your family’s information, we may confirm a request by contacting you at the email or phone number on the order.
We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Children
Our services are for adults arranging a memorial. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Forms on this site must be submitted by an adult (18 or older).
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information: encrypted connections, access limited to our staff, and card data handled by Square rather than by us. No system is perfect. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will also post a notice on the site. See also our terms of service and accessibility statement.
